Monrovia – Government has announced that the Liberia National Police and the elite security unit, the Executive Protective Service (EPS) are conducting further investigation into circumstances surrounding the fatal crash of a vehicle in President George Weah’s convoy and a jeep belonging to former Solicitor General, Cllr. Micah Wilkins Wright.

A statement released late Sunday, by the Ministry of Information Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) confirmed that the vehicle ferrying the Executive Mansion Press Corps, which was part of the presidential motorcade, was on Sunday, February 10, 2019, involved in an accident near Gbarnga, Bong County, when another vehicle belonging to Cllr. MICAT disclosed that there were two fatalities including a lady identified as Victoria Wlue, a passenger riding in Cllr, Wright’s vehicle, and Gabriel Wilson, alias “Executive Horn”, an employee of the Ministry of State who is the traditional horn blower to the president.

Several others onboard the vehicles sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Phebe Hospital in Bong County, according to the MICAT statement, which added that no other vehicle was affected by the impact.

President Weah conveys his sympathies to the families of the deceased and empathizes with the injured, said the MICAT statement, adding that the Liberian leader stressed that the government will ensure that those injured receive the best treatment possible.
