Gbarnga, Bong County – The government of Liberia has installed about five hundred solar panel lights throughout the main streets of Gbarnga City, Bong County, with a call for proper maintenance.
The “Presidential Street Light Project” initiative is aimed at electrifying the 15 political sub-divisions of Liberia.
Speaking officially during the switching on of the lights, Bong County lone CDC lawmaker, Marvin Cole, asserted that the project has added significant value to the county and its people.
Hon. Cole further asserted that the electrification of Gbarnga demonstrates President Weah’s love for the citizens of Bong County gauging their support in the 2017 general elections which brought his Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) to power.
Responding, some citizens of the county lauded President Weah for such splendid initiative which they described as a major boost for the county in terms of security.
Madam Dorcas Mulbah, a Gbanrga-based businesswoman, expressed happiness over the instillation of the solar lights in Gbarnga City, stating that it has brought total relief to the citizenry of the county.
She further expressed hope that the Weah-led government’s initiative would not end with Gbarnga City, but should spread to all parts of the country.
