Monrovia – Contrary to previous reports, a victim of police shooting during yesterday peaceful protest that turned violent in Kingsville, Margibi County, Junior Tumey, finally died few hours ago at the Du-Side Hospital in Harbel, Margibi County, according to family sources.
A 17-year-old 7th Grade student of the Faith Over-Comer School in Kingskille, Tumey, was deliberately shot in the back of his head, allegedly by an officer of the Police Support Unit (PSU of the Liberia National Police (LNP, during a melee that ensued when scores of citizens of Kingsville were protesting against what they term the ritualistic killing of two minors in the area.
Punch online service has independently gathered that Tumey was not a part of a group of citizens agitating in Kingsville Township #7, in Rural Montserrado County on Monday, when he met his untimely demise.
The citizens had blocked the main route leading from the Redlight commercial hub onto Kakata, Margibi County, in demand of justice over the mysterious killing of the minors, Thomas Kollie, 10 years old and Elijah Porluma, 9 years old, in Kingsville, when police officers brought in to quell the impasse resorted to using live bullets to disperse the crowd of protesters.
