Washington D.C. – Liberia’s deputy speaker at the House of Representatives, Bong County Representative Prince Moye has held talks with U.S. Congressman Erik Philip Paulsen in Washington D.C., the United States of America.
Congressman Paulsen is a high-ranking member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Minnesota’s 3rd District and Chairman of the Joint Economic Committee. The Republican lawmaker is also a member of the Ways and Means; sub-committee on Health and sub-committee on Trade and a former Minnesota House Majority Leader.
In a recent communication to Deputy Speaker Moye, Congressman Paulsen said he was inviting the Liberian lawmaker to the U.S., for the pair to discuss issues facing the people of Liberia, and the important role that the Liberian community has played in Minnesota, the USA.
The U.S. Congressman also told his Liberian counterpart in his communication that he was looking forward to both of them discussing the way forward in strengthening U.S. – Liberia relations.
Predicated upon the communication, Deputy Speaker Moye and a legislative delegation comprising several lawmakers including Thomas P. Fallah, Albert Hills, Rogers S. W. Domah and House Protocol Officer, Siafa Nyema, upon the invitation of Congressman Paulsen, departed Liberia for the United States last Sunday, and are due back home after 28 days.
Deputy Speaker Prince K. Moye and delegation held talks with Congressman Paulsen, in a meeting centered on pertinent issues facing the people of Liberia, PUNCH has reliably gathered.
According to sources, the meeting was also attended by the U.S. Congressman’s staff, as well as all members of Deputy Speaker Moye’s delegation. PUNCH has been reliably informed that details of the meeting will be made public soon.
