Monrovia – The National Elections Commission (NEC) has disclosed that beginning today Wednesday, 31 July, it will commence announcing preliminary results of the just-ended Montserrado County by-elections.
Liberians in Montserrado went to the polls Monday, 29 July to vote for a new senator and a Representative for District #15, following the deaths of former Senator Geraldine Doe-Sheriff and Representative Adolph Lawrence.
The NEC announced late yesterday that considering the late start of the tally of votes at the Headquarters of the Commission on Tuesday, NEC, through its Board of Commissioners, will begin releasing preliminary results on today.
“The tally of votes started late this afternoon in the presence of party agents and observers,” NEC said in a statement, which adds that “The media will be informed of the exact time the Commission will begin releasing the preliminary results.
