Voinjama – Lofa County Community College (LCCC) Board of Trustees, newly appointed chairman, Sumo Galakpai Kupee has stressed the need for improvement to be effectuated in the standard of the institution that is located in Voinjama City, Lofa County. Kupee was recently appointed by President George Weah, as chair of the LCCC Board, having formerly served as the immediate past Managing Director of the Liberia Petroleum Refinery Company (LPRC).
Kupee, a former senator of Lofa County is recommending that the LCCC is upgraded to a full degree-granting institution, adding that when this is done, it will be a great help to the youth of the county in preparing them for future challenges.
He has, therefore, outlined several vital issues and projects that according to him are very essential to be implemented at the LCCC.
Kupee among others outlined the establishment of a modern science laboratory, equipped computer library, infrastructure, as well as human resource capacity development, the cardinal things to be considered if the LCCC must be elevated to boost learning activities at the second highest learning institution in Lofa County.
He asserted that he will work with his colleagues on the LCCC Board in making sure that these projects are implemented at the institution.
Kupee disclosed that he is prepared to lobby with international organizations and also Liberians residing in the diaspora to help provide more support to the LCCC since according to him the college does not have adequate funding to undertake such projects.
He used the occasion to commend Weah for his preferment as chairperson of the LCCC Board of Trustees, pledging to work with his colleagues on the Board to ensure that quality education is provided at the college.
