Monrovia – A fierce critic of President George Weah, the daughter of the political leader of the opposition All Liberian Party (ALP) Benoni Wilfred Urey, Telia, has been scolded by several Liberians, for what they called the emerging female politician’s fumbling in an interview with reporters, following her endorsement by four collaborating political parties, including her father’s party, ALP, as their candidate in the upcoming Representative by-election for Montserrado County District #15.
The Representative seat for Montserrado County District #15 in the House of Representatives was made vacant as a result of the death of former Rep Adolph Lawrence, who died recently in a tragic motor accident off the Robertfield Highway.
Multiple sources have told PUNCH online service that in the absence of a primary, Urey’s daughter was “vetted” on Wednesday by the collaborating parties; the former ruling Unity Party (UP), Alternative National Congress (ANC), Liberty Party (LP) and the All Liberian Party (ALP), as the parties’ pick for the 2 July Representative by-election.
But following her endorsement, an on-the-spot interview granted reporters went south, as her interaction with the journalists which was caught on tape, seen by PUNCH online service, was nothing far from what she had always criticized President Weah for, most times on social media.
Telia, in most Facebook posts has been sarcastic when referring to President Weah’s grammar construction and she has frequently professed detecting flaws in the president’s sense of reasoning when expressing himself.
She has from time to time also suggested that most of the president’s supporters, especially those from his party, the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) are uneducated and that they need to go to school, often referring to them as “tiny, tiny, CDCians.”
Well, following her interview in which she flopped, one of such supporters of President Weah, Burbank Godisincontrol Lewis, elected to pay Telia back in her own coin, using Facebook to chide her.
Thursday, Lewis, while attaching the video clip of Telia’s interview, wrote on his official Facebook page: “My fellow Cdcians and people of district #15….On Talking Tom platform aka Henry Costa this your degree holder always abusing president Weah..when he’s addressing the nation, but let her here in front of four collaborating garbage expressing herself your listen yah.”
Lewis’s post however, has not gone unnoticed, as the descending thread underneath his post continues to generate tons of comments, mostly unfavorable for Telia.
Ma Fatu Son, a like mind as Lewis, referring to Telia wrote: “You really dull,” while Tiahbazon Panzeoh reacting to Ma Fatu Son’ comment wrote: “she is not mature.”
“Haaaaaaasaaaaa, what a disgrace to humanity!” Alexander Clarke wrote, while Steve said: “leh one ehn all can throw talk on Weah oo.”
For Mark Marvie, he scolded Telia, referring to her as being foolish, also reminding her that private conversation is quite different from public speaking.
Stephen Johnson: “Is this the one that always put her mouth on cdcians! Hahaha!”
Eriksen McAllester Tarlue: “Can’t even speak well…veterans CDCians especially of the youth can even express themselves well. Talking just like you get tie tongue.”
Henrydee Johnson told Telia: “When you profess to be too educated and consider other not your peers God has a way of exposing, see herself in her first public address, wooooochooo!!!”
Jasper Goodluck Woods is astounded, wondering how come, according to him, Telia is dull, yet she still criticizes President Weah for making grammatical errors.
Howbeit, Lawrence G. Cooper came in Telia’s defense, stating, “everyone has what’s call stage phobia. This girl one mistake you guys are celebrating compared to how many Rubbish Weah has spoken. Your find place to hide man.
Lawrence was buttressed by Solomon Garpue, who simply told Telia critics: “It’s a slip of tongue. Anybody can do that.”
But Johnson Winn replied by writing: “I thought she can’t have slip of tongue ooo,” while reposting one of Telia’s critiques of President Weah and his supporters, which states: “Dr. Dr. Weah, please open one academy for your Tiny Tiny them to learn good English to defend you!”
